Tulum is one of the most magical places in the world, with its spectacular beaches, historical ruins, and bohemian lifestyle. The food scene is strong; a mixture of local hole-in-the wall taquerias, healthy hippie-chic cafes, and fine dining restaurants with live music for you to dance to all night long.
Here is the list of Tulum's best restaurants (the ones marked * are a my absolute favorites).
Restaurants
Arca - Jungle restaurant with amazing design and "fire to table" cooking.
Posada margherita - Italian beachside restaurant with a very cute clothing store inside.
*Papaya Playa Project - Bohemian hotel, beach club and restaurant serving local food with a healthy twist on the beach. On Friday nights, they host their famous full moon parties.
*Azulik - Award-winning designer hotel, including a bar, with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the ocean and jungle.
Matcha Mamma - Everything healthy, from acai bowls to cold-pressed juices.
Origami - Best ice cream in Tulum.
Disco restaurants (dinner and dancing)
*Gitano - How to describe Gitano to a first timer? Incredible local food cooked on an open fire grill, a mezcal bar, bohemian design and a sparkly disco ball hanging off a palm tree. The best night to go is on Thursday, but they have live music and dancing on Friday and Saturday as well.
Casa Jaguar - An upscale yet rustic restaurant in the jungle with parties every Wednesday.
*Wild - A Middle Eastern and Mediterranean menu paired with experimental cocktails.
Taquerias
*Taqueria la eufemia- Cheap and cheerful tacos, 2-for-1 margaritas and beach views.
Burrito amor - Burrito restaurant with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
Charly’s vegan tacos - Food truck serving healthy and vegan tacos.
